4rd TICKET Transnational Meeting, University of Granada, September 2022

The 4th Transnational Meeting of the TICKET Consortium was held in Granada at the University of Granada, from 19th to 21th of September 2022. During the 3 days of the meeting, different sessions took place oriented both to academic and administrative staff and they were dedicated to the training programme, to ICT tools and the handbook.
This project wishes to reinforce the intercultural competences of the academic and research staff as well as the administrative and support staff by offering a holistic approach for the acquisition and development of intercultural skills in order to achieve a socio-educational impact in Higher Education. The objective of the project is for other Institutions to make use of the project’s results.

The event was attended by delegates from the member universities of the Consortium and meetings took place at the International School of Postgraduate Studies of the UGR.

TICKET International Staff Week, University of Bologna, May 2022

The first in-presence TICKET International Staff Week was hosted by the University of Bologna between 23 and 27 of May 2022. As many as 30 professionals coming from the partner universities took part in a 5-day programme that allowed them to connect and network with international colleagues through interactive IC-training activities around the following themes:

  • Student and staff mobility and their effects on campus
  • Supporting student learning and their socio-economic needs
  • The University as an intercultural workplace

3rd TICKET Transnational Meeting, Jagiellonian University Krakow, March 2022

The third Transnational Meeting of the TICKET Consortium was held in Krakow at the Jagiellonian University, from 21th to 23th of March,2022 and was the first meeting held in-person after a long period of on-line events held in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The event was attended by delegates from the member universities of the Consortium and meetings took place at the Confucius Institute of the Jagiellonian University.

The first day of the meeting began with a session dedicated to the Training Programme & ICT Tools, reviewing the modules created so far and setting a plan for starting the testing period of the training modules.

The second day of the Transnational Meeting started with a discussion on project legacy and continued with a session on the Staff Toolkit and the Community of Practice,planning the remaining activities of this output.

The final day of the meeting was dedicated to the TICKET Handbook, review of plan and partners input, followed by a wrap-up in order to sum up the key action points discussed during the three-day meeting in Krakow.

TICKET First International Staff Week

Due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, the TICKET Project held its first International Staff Week virtually from May 17th – 21st 2021. Although we could not meet in person, the project took advantage of the virtual format to invite staff from HEIs all over the globe to test the Training Programme modules, feed into the development of the Staff Toolkit, and learn the benefits of joining the TICKET Community of Practice. We were able to gather valuable feedback from the attendees to help further develop project’s outputs. The virtual event consisted of four interactive webinars:

1.    “Let’s go abroad! Supporting students and staff to make mobility truly intercultural”
2.    “Internationalising teaching and learning”
3.    “How to encourage contact among diverse groups of students”
4.    The TICKET Community of Practice: supporting academics and professional staff with holistic skills in intercultural competence

TICKET Kick-off Transnational Meeting

Marked the official Ticket Project kick-off meeting, serving as the first major internal forum for discussion to kick-start the building blocks of the TICKET Project.

The three day event included planning of the project’s intellectual outputs, as well as workshops in Intercultural Competence and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Academic and administrative staff from all TICKET partner universities gathered in Edinburgh to decide on how to move from ambition to action.
